More about Mark

In the early 70’s just out of high school, 17 old Mark followed his dream of playing bass guitar and joined what would become one of the premier Seattle bands, worked with Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart on one of his original songs and opened for such acts like, The Oak Ridge Boys, Elvin Bishop, Commander Cody, Jim Stafford and Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. Eventually after a successful music career he left Seattle to raise his sons in the Midwest, landing in NW Ohio. His boys raised, he refocused his energies on songwriting, recording and performing and has produced several solo albums. He owns his own recording studio, Oldgyz Productions and has been performing with several musicians and bands around the greater Toledo, Ohio area.

The latest release from Mark Elder, ‘Walking Each Other Home’ really shows off not only Mark’s songwriting skills but also his abilities as a recording  artist and an engineer, and is a wonderful mix of Classic Rock, Pop and Country. It features musicians not just from the Toledo area where Mark lives, but the Pacific Northwest and Germany as well. Six of the ten songs were co-written by lyricist William Sohnly of Toledo, Ohio while the remaining four were written solely by Mark. This project has taken a year and a half to complete and is considered to be Mark Elder’s finest work to date.
