For a few years in the depths of my alcoholism I didn't even own a guitar. Getting my favorite bass guitar back from a friend, I started finding my way back out of that terrible, dark place and eventually got sober. I had been in recovery for eight years when a close friend in recovery "went back out " and started drinking and drugging. It really tore me up and to help myself come to terms with all the emotions that churning up in me, I wrote the first song "Dancing With His Demons". From there came the other eleven songs based on the twelve steps in recovery. As a bonus I've included another of my favorite songs I've written which lines up with all of these entitled "That Distant Shore" .
